Obituary:
Cecil "Bud" W. Mervin, age 73, of Maple Falls, WA, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011.

He was born on December 2, 1937 in Nampa, ID, to Wayman and Donna (Nelson) Mervin. Bud attended Parkrose High School, where he played on the football and baseball teams.

After graduation, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in the South Pacific, working as a helicopter mechanic, and eventually earning the rank of Sergeant.

Bud married Pam Tandy-White on December 31, 1962, and they were happily married for 48 years. Bud worked as the Facilities Maintenance Superintendent for many years at Electronic Specialties.

He was a member of Cornwall Church and was a strong, silent type, with a creative and innovative mind. He was always thinking and could fix and do almost anything he set his mind to.

In his free time, he loved riding his Harley and water skiing. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and exploring the woods in his new neighborhood.

Bud was a good man, who loved and lived for his family. Some of his favorite times were his play dates with his grandkids. He was special to all who knew and loved him, and he will be greatly missed.

Bud was preceded in death by his father; and his sister, Gwen Ibbotson.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Mervin; mother, Donna Lassley; daughter, Teresa (Daniel) Millspaugh; son, Mitch Mervin; sisters, Mariann Acree and Loujean Schell; brother, Jerry Lassley; grand-daughters, Stefanie (Lucas) Ambuehl and Chelsea Mervin; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Abigail; and his special bird, Casey.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Moles-Greenacres Funeral Home.
