Married: Curtis Reuben Pittsenbarger July 29, 1933 in Troy, Doniphan County, Kansas.

Marguerite Pittsenbarger, Maryville, Missouri, passed away on August 22, 2008 at the age of 96. Marguerite was born August 17, 1912 on a farm near Hopkins, Missouri to George W. and Magdalene E. DeMott Thompson. Marguerite attended the Happy Hollow Rural Grade School, graduated from the Gaynor High School and Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, and also did graduate work at Warrensburg State and Columbia Universities. She taught in the schools of Nodaway and Platte counties for 37 years. She loved to work with children and youth. She spent 20 years as a 4-H leader and many years working with the youth groups in the Gaynor Community Church in which she was a member.

On July 29, 1933 she was married to Curtis Pittsenbarger at Troy, Kansas. To this union two children were born: Sharon Mooney and husband Richard of Deltaville, Virginia, and George Pittsenbarger of Hopkins. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Curtis Mooney of Woodbridge, Virginia, Carla Sibley and husband Curtis of Deltaville, Georgia Beth Williams and husband Keith of North Pole, Alaska, and Lorinda Forster and husband Richard of Honolulu, Hawaii. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Craig, Caitlyn and Cortney Sibley, Jacob and Ashland

Williams and Lichen Forester. Additional Survivors include one brother, Harry Thompson and wife Alma of Hopkins. She also leaves one Nephew, George Martin and wife Martha of Bolivar, Missouri, who was raised in her Hopkins home, and by many other nephews, nieces, friends and the dedicated caregivers who were so wonderful.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Pittsenbarger, her parents; two brothers; infant, Robert and Roy Thompson; and three sisters; Helen Godsey, Mildred Dieter and Esther Martin. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at the Price Funeral Home, Maryville, with graveside services in the Hopkins Cemetery on Wednesday, August 27, at 10:30 a.m.
