Allene was the oldest of five children. Born to Clarence and Mabel Orton on May 17, 1912 in Ogden, UT, Allene married George Holliday Atkinson in the Logan Temple on September 6, 1935. George preceded her in death in March of 1984.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Allene served the Gospel in many capacities including two full time missions. She also served with her husband in the Ogden Temple.

Her family (and genealogy) were the center of her life. Inspired by her pioneer heritage, she determined early in her youth to live an exemplary life, and leaves behind a legacy of faith, persistence, love and charity. She also worked as a professional teacher, developing a life long dedication for helping children to learn.
