Son of Richardson and Sarah (Plumb) Avery, Sr.
Born: October 6, 1742 in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut.
Died: After 1790 in Preston, New London County, Connecticut.
Married: Eunice Maxson January 1, 1766 in Hopkinton, Washington County, Rhode Island.

His name appears on the rate bills of Wilksbarre, Penn., 1776, 1777. He, with his father, was at Wyoming massacre, and took the long march back to Connecticut. His name appears on a petition to the Connecticut general court, asking for aid to build a fort at Wilkesbarre, April 25, 1780. (Western Lands, 1:118) He was living at Preston, Conn in 1790.
