Marjorie Ellen Macke
Marjorie Ellen Macke was born on May 25, 1926, in McCook, to Raymond V. Schneider and Blanche J. (Ready) Schneider.

She married Donald W. Macke on Dec. 21, 1944, at St. Patrick's Church in North Platte. They were married for 49 years before he preceded her in death.

Member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, of Lincoln, and formerly a member of St. Luke's Catholic church in Ogallala, Marge said, "My greatest gift from God was the ability to do work well in my position as a nurse's aide." Marge was a nurse's aide at Ogallala Community Hospital for 27 years and home health giver for eight years. She was an active volunteer including Brother Keepers, Hospice, Senior Center, Lancaster County Manor and Madonna.

Children include a daughter, Rita (Tom) Wilson, of Chloride, Ariz., Ron Macke and his fiancé Donna Berilgen, of Centennial, Colo., Jerry (Mary Theresa Weaver) Macke, of Kansas City, Mo., Don (Jenny Carver) Macke, of Lincoln; grandchildren, Hillary, Daniel, Donalee, Jenny, Katie, Megan, Sam and Eric; and eight great-grandchildren; and a surviving sister, Loretta Brannon, of Tucson, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles, Gerald and Georgie; and one sister, Eleanor Ann.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 31st and S Streets, Lincoln. Rosary will be at 7 p.m., today, at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home at 4040 A St., Lincoln. Burial will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.
