The Brooklyn Daily Eagle reported that he was confined to his bed in 1888 with severe rheumatism. In the same paper, 19 Oct 1930, a relative entered he and Annie in a Twin Contest, who at 73 might have been the oldest living twins in the area. It was also mentioned that the two were still living in the home they were both born in, at 144 So. St., Oyster Bay. Their home was built in 1788, and was torn down in 1949.
